Where the Magic Began

Vancouver, BC

Home of the First-Ever Enchant Christmas in 2016

Every tradition has a beginning...

For us, it all started in Vancouver, BC.

What began as two best friends hanging holiday lights for their neighbors soon evolved into something much bigger than anyone could have imagined. A simple conversation about a “light maze” sparked an idea, leading to two years of planning, designing, and dreaming up something completely new—a holiday experience like no other.

Then, in the winter of 2016, the dream came to life. Against a backdrop of twinkling lights and festive cheer, Vancouver became the birthplace of the World’s Largest Christmas Light Maze.

A Spectacle Like No Other 🎄✨

Nestled between Vancouver’s Olympic Village and the Cambie Street Bridge, Enchant Christmas debuted in 2016 with more than 55,000 square feet of dazzling illuminations, tunnels of light, and breathtaking sculptures. Guests wandered through glowing forests, discovered hidden caves, and stood in awe beneath a towering 60-foot Christmas tree.

And, of course, no Enchant event would be complete without Santa Claus himself, ready to hear holiday wishes and spread holiday magic to visitors of all ages.

The Story That Started It All:

The Great Search

Enchant isn’t just about the lights—it’s about bringing holiday stories to life. Vancouver was home to our first-ever interactive maze adventure: The Great Search.

Written by local author Leanne Johnston and illustrated by Sebastian S.C., this magical tale transported guests into a world of twinkling wonder. When a powerful blizzard scattered Santa’s reindeer, it was up to friends and families to embark on a journey through the Light Maze to find them, ensuring Christmas could still be saved.

This blend of storytelling and immersive design would go on to become the foundation of Enchant Christmas for years to come.

The Village: A Festive Shopping and Dining Experience

Beyond the maze, the Christmas Market created a festive shopping and dining experience like no other. With nearly 50 local vendors, a dozen of Vancouver’s favorite food trucks, and a cozy, licensed dining area serving mulled wine and craft beer, the market became a staple of our winter events.

Here, visitors could shop for hand-crafted gifts, indulge in seasonal treats, and soak in the magic of the holidays with family and friends.

From Vancouver to the World 🌎

Vancouver will always be where the magic of Enchant Christmas was born. The event was so successful that it sparked a journey far beyond British Columbia—taking Enchant to major U.S. cities, drawing in millions of guests, and becoming a beloved holiday tradition across North America.

The first Enchant Christmas ended a few years ago, but its spirit still shines brightly. And who knows? Perhaps one day, the lights of Enchant will twinkle over Vancouver once again.
